First fertility appt, what to expect??

Hi Everyone,

After a long, bumpy ride trying to have a baby l; I recently reached out to Repromed in Auckland to begin a whole new level of trying. Right off the bat, when I spoke to the ladies at reception they were so lovely and they made it so easy booking in my first consult appointment for early this coming week.

As my appointment gets closer I have found that I am feeling really torn. Part of me is excited to finally feel like there's hope again but part of me is also really nervous and unsure of what to expect. So far my only real experience with medical professionals through this journey has been with Dr's who love to tell me that I'm "still young" and that "stressing yourself out about it, isn't going to help.".... as if neither of those statements is completely invalidating.

I'm just now realizing that I actually have no idea what will take place during this consult and that makes me feel even more nervous. I am wondering if anyone would feel comfortable sharing what kinds of things took place in your first consults with fertility clinics?

I am sure that at least part of it will be discussing my medical history and cycle but surely that does not take 45 minutes? I guess there will probably be blood tests etc too but any other info would be really helpful with calming that nervous voice in the back of my head.
