My eight month old son won't take a bottle. I'm going back to work part-time soon and I'm wondering how hard/easy it will be to get him to take breast milk from a sipper cup when I'm not there. Does anyone have any tips for doing this? If so, what kind of sipper cup should I use? hard spout or soft spout? Thanks
I would say try a sip cup that will take the teat of a normal baby bottle.. and that has handles.. i found that putting avent handles on an existing Avent bottle helped my baby to hold on to it while drinking and she is still learning but its working just fine.. Avent products are all interchangeable.. so worth a try.. Hope this helps..They do sell an avent sip cup with a handle which costs bout 12 dollars.. and can be changed with teats and milk bottles
I had this problem with 2 of my boys. No matter how hard I tried, they would not take the bottle. In the end I just send them to preschool. They cried lots for the first 2 days, then gave in and drank from the bottle. I also think that a cup or bottle with a soft teat is best, as it will remind them of breast and give comfort.
