Hmm.. is it too expensive?

Hey ladies.

im trying to sell my car as i brought a new one. Ive been told i can sell my car for around $4500 if i get the cambelt changed. I don't want to do this as i don't have the $$ so ive gotten a quote for between $500-600 for it to be changed and listed my car for $3999 ONO for the difference (car comes with cambelt - just need to pay for the labour to put it in). Its a good car and ive never had any problems with it.
Am i asking too much for it?
I have a buyer whos throwing a stink saying he will only pay $3000.

ETA: ild be happy with $3500 so im not acting like its a non-negotiable price but this guy is being a dick.

I would have a look on TM at other similar cars to see what they are going for. I wouldn't be settling for 3K if you are wanting more especially if you have only just put it up for sale.

ONO = or near offer. 3k is 1k off what you're asking. Hardly a near offer. I don't think it's unreasonable to negotiate back at 3500

I will ask my DP when he gets home, he's a used car salesman.

He could be only offering you $3000 because it will need rego next month too. Hes probably just factoring how much things will cost to keep it on the road.

There are alot of people on TM that want something for nothing and they annoy me and my partner (even tho my partner is just as bad) I tend to get snarky and say if you dont like it dont buy it DP if he has something listed as 3999ono will tell them bottom dollar is 3600-3700 even if he only wants 3500.

I reckon tell him your bottom dollar and to stop wasting your time if he doesnt want to pay it

I told him last night that he could have it for $3300 because i was getting fed up with him and wanted him to leave me alone but he told me to get stuffed lol.
