Hi Salifer

My DH and I got married back in March 2006. We started TTC in November 2006. So I know we are extremely lucky to have fallen PG within such a short about of time.

I started planning for this baby many months ago. 2 years ago I went off the pill (it wasn't doing me or my body any favours!). My DH and I used condoms to prevent any early pregnancy. I have also had accunpuncture since April 2006, first for my migraines (which they have stopped! Touch wood!!) and then to get my body/cycle ready to conceive.

Once we were ttc we would do 'it' early second day from day 10 for about a week (I had a very regular 28 day cycle). This month we I got pg I noticed my EWCM so we did it that night, I OV the next night (I get OV pains - so I know when I OV!) and then we did it the following night. And then two nights after that.

I'm a strong believer in accupuncture and I really do believe that helped me get my body into shape.

I hope this helps

Oh, also. The night I think we conceived, I went out to dinner with a bunch of people....there were 3 pg ladies there.....maybe that also helped?? There would have been plenty of baby dust around that night

Good luck!

Thanks NikkiB........really nice to hear your background and sounds like you've been planning your family for long enough (with giving up the pill 2 years ago) so falling pregnant within 3 months is wonderful news. You must have done the right thing for your body to give up the pill so many years ago, enough time for your body to get back on track.

And I'm really really REALLY interested to hear about the accupuncture. Like you I've suffered from migraines for over 15 years now and after coming off the pill 5 years ago its seriously curved the frequency of them. I did still get them more often than I liked but can honestly say after starting on B vitamins over 8 months ago (along with folic acid, fish oil and a pre-natal vitamin) my migraines have almost ceased to exist!!!

But I think I might do some inquiry into acccupunture. I'm willing to give anything ago to stop the dredded migraines.

I had a very busy day at work on Thurs and came home absolutely EXHAUSTED. As a result - migraine crept in and I wasn't able to take my usual medication due to the fact that we're TTC. So slept on it only to wake Fri morning with my head still throbbing. DH raced off to buy panadol at 7am as I knew thats the only recommended meds to take to relieve pain. Oh the joys of suffering from migraines.

I wouldn't wish migraines on my worst enemy!

I started to get migraines at the age of 18, I'm now 30. Nothing else has helped me like accupunture.

Good luck with TTC and with your migraines. If you do decided to try accupunture, I'd certainly look around. If you don't click with the accupuncturist, then I would go to someone else. It certainly helps with the treatment if you can get along with the person and feel comfortable with them.
