Hi all, hoping for a little bit of knowledge and advice.

I have had a problem free preg with nothing. Last time I was at the MW I was 2-3/5 engaged but MW explained that this didn't mean that I would go early etc.

In the last 2 days, I have had period like back pain. Does this mean anything and do I need to tell my MW before my next appt on wed?

Did a wee search and couldn't really find anything.

TIA

Does it come and go, or is it constant?
If it is coming and going and/or getting stronger then you might want to give your midwife a call or text.
It could be bubs sitting on a nerve though, or if he/she has moved down again it might be causing your back ache.
I'd just keep and eye on it and if it changes or of you feel concerned about it, ring your midwife even if its just for peace of mind.

It comes and goes but only comes about 4-5 times a day. Def not back ache more just the period like pain.

You normally get period like pain when in labour, described by one work friend as nine months of period at once. As it is not happening that often it could maybe be that your cervix is beginning to soften which can happen weeks prior to labour starting. I would wait till Wednesday but if it gets more frequent or is painful rather than uncomfortable I would ring the m/w just to check.

Sounds like your body is getting ready for the day, esp with baby being so low (engaged). Take special care with lifting as your ligaments will all be soft.

If it starts coming more frequently ring your midwife. Not to scare you but friend of mine had this but she thought nothing of it (it was her 2nd bubs so she knew what labour was like) and then she had a show so she rung midwife but it was too late to stop it so bubs was born early. So make sure you keep an eye on it.

They don't stop labour if you are over 34 weeks as bubs is normally ok. Maybe just needs a little help with feeding and needs to be kept warm but thats it. When Spencer tried to come at 34 weeks 6 days they weren't gonna stop it, labour just stopped naturally for me, but they were quite happy for it to go ahead and had started prepping me for emergency c/s (cos he was breech)
