Topic: Looing for new jon *Help!* Posted: 21 October 2007 at 9:46am |
Oh my gosh I cant even type, I spelt the title wrong, I mean LOOKING for a new JOB lol Im SO embaressed!!!!!!
My job is SO boring, I walk around and around the store doing nothing all day and its even more tiring than being busy. There is just nothin to do most of the time and the things we sell are not even interesting to me. I dont know that I can handle another 6 months there
What do you think my chances are of someone hiring me knowing that I am pregnant? Im looking at jobs now....

I think an employer may be put off by you being pregnant, and you can't blame them really. Perhaps you could look for something that is a short term contract, or maybe do temp work.
Sucks when you don't like your job, you will have more energy when you hit the second trimester though, those first 3 months are tiring even when your not doing much.

i got a new job then a week later found out i was preggy.......told them 2 wks later and then lost my job i was only on 'trial' anyway but if i didn't get preggy i'd still be there
i think the only way you'd get a new job would be temping. good luck, i hope you get something a little more exciting

I found out I was pregnant whilst working my notice, and then told new employer on my first day that I was pregnant. They didn't mind, but they are probably not the norm.

The only thing I'd worry about going for a new job now is how will it impact on any potential maternity leave payments??

I was 9 weeks when I started my job and still got the full 14 week entitlement, but I was not entitled to take any more time off, lucky for me work didn't hold me to that and have let me stay off till Jan

So is Study link they're looking for people from now until mid March for student loan/allowance applications.
I do think temping is your best option, although do you really want to be changing jobs so close to Christmas?!
You may find it easier in the New Year.

I'm like you..i needed to leave my job..stressful and was finding it very hard..so now don't get maternity pay (though i wasn't going back anyway) and now need money..but will just have to get used to having none I think:) as we cant et any allowances or anything.. though i think maybe the 150 for 8 weeks once he's born...not helpful at the mo:(
