Topic: further questions to the stretch marks... Posted: 13 November 2007 at 9:03am |
On the topic of stretch marks, did anyone use a preventative oil, like Bio oil or the cocoa cream and still get them or not get them too badly? and would massaging the skin keep it supple? We used to massage my step dads legs when he had lymphadema (sp?) to stop the skin from splitting and I was curious if this would help the tummy?

I used bio oil after my shower in the morning, and cocoa butter at night from the time I was 12 weeks preg. I have no stretch marks where I used the cream and oil, but do have them below (on my thighs) and above (on my boobs) where I didnt use anything! I say plaster your whole body!

I used cocoa butter and don't have any, but then I carried quite small so that might have had more to do with it.

As I said in the other thread, I used bio oil twice a day during my pregnancy from 8 weeks and I don't have one single stretchmark on my belly. Who knows if it was the bio oil or not, but I did use alot of it during the applications and would massage it in after my shower morning and night!

I used Bio Oil and Palmers Cocoa Butter Cream and am getting some very light stretch marks now. I haven't used it on my boobs and have none but have used it on the tops of my thighs and hips as already had slight ones there and they have kinda stretched a bit more.
I have gone thru gallons of Bio Oil and Cream but its only in the last 3 -4 days that they are there and they are extremely light, like no one else can see them but me!

ok i just have to say this...yes the creams and bio oil will help but a great percentage of whether you get them or not is inherited..so while i believe that both of those (cocoa butter and bio oil) help immensely if you are going to get them you are going to get them..sadly!!:(

Sorry have to agree with kawww, apparently about 90% of women will get them during pregnancy.
I already had heaps before so wasn't really worried about it that much, I don't really have a bikini body anyway
