Topic: What is the best HPT? Posted: 17 March 2007 at 9:30pm |
Hi There, Just wondering what brand HPT has everyone found the best, and how long is the longest anyone has had to wait for a positive one?
TIA

Some people never get positive BFPs on a test only on bloods. Do you have a link to your chart?

Why don't you ring the docs and ask for a referral for a blood test?

The best HPT is a blood test! I only got lines on the HPT 4 days after my bt, even though my bt showed levels of over 50 and the test supposedly tested levels over 25!

Noddle, I am still pretty new at this charting business, but your chart does not look correct. You should start a new chart everytime you get AF. Yours seems to just be one big, long giant chart. I would say it is pretty unlikely to get ovulation at day 43.
Are you entering mensturation on your chart when you put your temperatures in? The first day that you do that, a new chart will be generated for you - that way you'll get a chart per cycle and then you can begin to compare the charts to get a pattern.
How long is your cycle usually? You chart should be that number of days. If you click on my link, you will see my current chart. My cycle is normally 30 days, but last month my cycle was 34 days, so my new chart has been generated on that basis, and the green square on day 18 is my predicted ovulation date. My suggestion would be to start over with a new chart on the first day of your next period. Then you can enter your temps, but always enter your period dates, as otherwise Fertility Friend does not know if you have had AF arrive.
Alternatively, if you know the first date of your last period, go and enter it against the correct dates and that should create new cycles for you.
Secondly, your temperatures seem to fluctuate quite a bit. Are you taking the temps at the same time every day? Fertility Friend may be finding it hard to accurately predict your ovulation as your temperatures vary so much.
Hope I haven't confused you!! Feel free to PM me any questions - I'd be happy to help. :o)

Hi Laurie
Thanks for that, and long cycles is normal for me i have PCOS my cycles range from 45 days being the shortest to 96 being the longest, when i do finally get AF i do put that into FF and it does start me a new chart, My long cycles is just a joy of having PCOS However after this cycle finishes i have to book in for a HSG and then try some rounds of clomid we are under fertility + because of that and DH male factor, so after 19 months TTC hopefully something soon will happen for us

Hi again Noddle,
Sorry to hear about your PCOS - I can imagine how frustrating that is for keeping track of your fertility. Explains your long cycles though!!
I hope Clomid brings some joy into your life with a wee bubba. Must be the one and only time you want AF to come so that you can get started!!! Good luck. :o)

Noodle i hate to say it but i dont think you have ovulated. There are ALOT of open circles are you temping at the same time each day?
The reason for the dotted ovulation line is the open temp circles.
You dont have a significant temp jump to confirm ovulation your temps are very pre o so i would go on as if you havent ovulated. So sorry chicka i know how frustrating it can be!
The only way to rectify this problem is to start temping at the same time each day after a minimum 3 hours sleep. I set alarms to take my temp at 7am otherwise i completely forget! Baby brain!
Laurie - Charts can vary drastically depending on what is happening with women. I have long charts and have been known to ovulate almost in the 30s. There are many charts out there where ovulation occurs very late in a cycle so trust me when i say that it is VERY likely to ovulate later than other people.
A chart will not change to a new one unless menses is stated and Noodle hasnt started AF yet. Theres no point waiting for another chart as it will only be a similar thing.
