Topic: electric baby swings Posted: 28 November 2010 at 7:59pm |
DS was a terrible sleeper, and the first 6 mths were a really hard time . To spite all that I love my boy and can't wait to have #2 .
Even though I'm not due for ages, I'm already thinking about all the ways I can get #2 to sleep better than DS did.
I've been looking at electric swings and I'm wondering - are they all the sales pitch promise? are they safe? Can you really just put the new born in there and leave them to swing away?

Some of my friends hired them from baby on the move - about $30 for the month. Maybe worth thinking about?

Mine was a life saver, but in saying that G never actually went to sleep in it. I mainly used it at dinner time coz she used to time her crying for right when I had put a hot dinner on the table. I didn't have any support from my now ex partner and so if I hadn't had the swing it would have been cold dinner for me every night. It used to just settle her enough so I could eat and then deal with her.

I LOVE ours! DS naps in it everyday (and right now!) The batteries died almost a month ago now, and we haven't replaced them, but they were great when he was small.
I got ours off trademe for $80.

We got one of TM when our boy was about 8ish weeks old. We used to rock him to sleep and it would take hours, so got him the swing which worked to start with. Then I found he was becoming more alert, and not as keen to stay in it. It was good to use to get a few things done during the day etc.
tbh, looking back we should have gotten him into a better sleep pattern/habit. Not using rocking or swinging etc to do it. However sanity is important and at the time you do the best you can.
I would recommend hiring or buying second hand.
(we also tried them out in the shop to see if he liked them first)
And yes they are safe the one we got had a 5 point harness and had variable speed settings.

My recommendation would be a Natures Sway hammock. Ours have been lifesavers. My girls sleep in their cots fine at night but day sleeps were a complete & utter nightmare - but they will happily sleep in their hammocks & we can take them with us so they will sleep at other people's houses.
We got ours secondhand off TM and I've heard Natures Sway also sell seconds on there for cheap.

I agree ours was a life saver too. Emily was a colicy baby. when she was little i did put a head support in it (like you have in capsules) but the harness kept her in.
We have the fisher and price take along one so it folds well and you can just pop it in the boot. Was from kmart for $160.

Baby swings all have similar reasons for relaxing up children enough for them to rest and afterward to rest for a few hours or something like that. An issue that appears to concern a few parents is whether a baby swing is better in the event that it moves from side to side or from front to back. Children are too youthful to even consider saying what they like, so a few guardians want to consider the headings that an infant swing can move in. There are baby swings accessible that are equipped for moving from side to side just as from front to back. A few swings can move in various ways. Check this website for more information about baby swings.

BEST VIBRATING BABY SWING/ROCKER REVIEWS. Vibration is best for southern kids. Parents usually do it by their hands. Thanks to modern-day technology now this work means the vibration work is done by rockers and swings. Even the products with dual functionality are available in the market. The tact is to choose what is most suitable for your child and convenient for you to use. I recommend you to click on this link for further information about Baby Swing Club.
