Ok there have been several suggestions as to the book for this month...
can we have a vote?

Can I join in too? If you're still looking for a book for May can I suggest one? 'The Time Traveller's Wife' by Audrey Niffenegger. Back blurb is this:
This is the extraordinary love story of Clare and Henry who met when Clare was six and Henry was was thirty-six, and were married when Clare was twenty-two and Henry was thirty. Impossible, but true, because Henry suffers from a rare condition where his genetic clock periodically resets and he finds himself pulled suddenly into his past or future. In the face of this force they can neither prevent nor control, Henry and Clare's struggle to lead normal lives is both intensely moving and entirely unforgettable.
Just a suggestion though, happy to go along with anything! |

For May, can I suggest "The Alchemist" By Paulo Coelho. Just read it today, is quite short. Perfect for those with not much time to read.
Very thought provoking...... But well written.. Very well written |

*bump*
Eager to see what people vote on....
The one that I have suggested is really easy to read. only 167 pages.... It will make you think about the world and those "Coincidences" in an entirely new way...
"Nothing is impossible, such is Coelho's message, as long as yu wish it with all your heart. No other book bears so much hope, small wonder its author became a guru among those in search of the meaning of life".
"The Alchemist is a beautiful book about magic, dreams and the treasures we seek elsewhere and then find at our doorstep"

Maybe we can have May as "read your own book month". Everyone can then report in with what they read and if it was any good etc etc.
Since we are already half-way through the month.

I have just finished reading Northern Lights by Phillip Pullman.
Bought a book across the road at Countdown called The Book of Lost Things by John Connolly. It looks awesome :) It's a grown up fairy tale / fable book.

I'm not much of a book reader but the last book I did read was when I was still preggers. It was an autobiography, Gordon Ramsay - Humble Pie. He's awesome! I love that he's such a bastard on tv

How did I miss this thread? Well its not long until June now, so how about we choose for that. I think we need something short-ish as last month not many people finished it in time. Will have a think...
What is northern lights about Tara? Sounds familiar.
I am reading The Virgins Lover by Phillipa Gregory at the mo - not my usual style and although its quite good, am really struggling.

Ladyluck, I read this book last year and LOVED it -- I thought it was one of the best books I've read in years. It was haunting, beautiful, creepy, thought-provoking, and poignant all at the same time. I couldn't put it down.
