Topic: Need to have a bit of a cry... Posted: 16 December 2005 at 11:27am |
I just need to get this out...
Andy and I have been trying for baby number two for over six months now... That is including the two fab months I was actually pregnant before I miscarried. Each time it has taken little more than a glance in my direction at the right moment and I have been pregnant.
But now it is just not happening. I am hoping that it will eventually and I just need to stop stressing but I am so so sad about it all at the moment.
A good friend of mine decided ONE month ago that they wanted to try again, she has been off the pill for ONE cycle and is now five weeks pregnant. I am SO bitter and jealous and angry about this that it takes all my energy to still see her and not cry.
How do I stop being so bitter and angry about this? I think Andy's having serious concerns for my mental health and I am not sure he is exaggerating...
Boohoo..woe is me!!

Oh Anna, I can sooo relate. Having had 2 unexpected and unplanned pregnancies we thought that we could just 'have another one' when we wanted to, but that is proving not to be the case
The best advice I can give is to have a chat to your GP. I know you are supposed to wait until you have been trying 12 months and blah blah blah, but my GP was so great and so supportive, she ordered blood tests to make sure everything was functioning properly etc. and was just a good sounding board.
Good luck, I'm sure you'll be pregnant soon!

Awww Anna
I'm sure things will go your way!
Perhaps its your body just trying to right itself after your pregnancy? (Mmm with all my medical knowledge?!?)
Things will look up!

My advice would be to talk to someone - even if its just your partner - if its really making you feel down. Sometimes it helps

Hey sweetie, I understand how you feel, we've offically been trying for a year while all around us everyone else is falling pregnant. It is really hard to deal with emotionally but I have found talking to others in similar positions really helps.
And yes, having a chat to your GP can be a really good idea.
Good luck!

I am so sorry to hear how sad you are Anna.I also had 2 unplanned pregnancies and when my hubby and I decided to try for number 3 it took over 6 months to finally happen. I was also really angry at how friends of mine were falling pregnant around me(one of them had 2 abortions in 12mths)
I really think you should go and talk to your GP as it does take its toll on your mental and physical health and you need both to make that special bubba you will have soon

Thanks for the replies everyone...
I am feeling better now, am focusing on Christmas with the wee one and have decided to take some time off from trying til next year!
I know that six months is not long to be trying, there are so many people out there in the same position. Sometimes it is maddening that my first two pregnancies were so easy and this time it is not! I have turned into one of those people with a definite plan and this was not part of it! I am hoping to donate eggs after next baby but want to do it before we move to Aust so everything just seems that it is being pushed backwards and further away!!
Thank you to everyone for your kind words! Jess - thank you and good luck for your wee bean, I know it will be perfect!! And Paws, hang in there, it will happen soon!! Emma - big congrats on your fab news, having done such a fab job with one I know number two will be just as great! And big thanks to you guys, Nikki and Tania and Aimee!! Everyone here is always so supportive, I love it!!

anna i bet you get pregnant as soon as you stop 'trying'. just go with the flow and try not to always think 'is this the time'....

That's what happened to us, funnily enough. We didn't even bother trying as I was going away for xmas etc., and look what happened!
