hi there - i've been lurking for awhile but just felt the need to post on this topic! We are with F+ in auckland and were put on public IVF waiting list in Feb and told it was probably a 12 mth wait - but we have already been for our orientation and are booked in for IVF in August - so it will be only just 6 mths from when we went on the list to starting public iVF. I mentioned to the nurses that it was quicker than we thought and she said that they always give you worst case waiting time - and also they tend to have people dropping off the list (presumably getting pg before IVF) so people get bumped up all the time. Anyway - just thought i'd let you know as it may not be as long as 12 mths...
Best of luck - I was on the IVF waiting list last year - went on the list in May and was due to start orientation in November/December.
I was one of the incredibly lucky ones that got pregnant before I started - and I felt really great that someone else got bumped up the list and could start earlier.
I saw Richard Fisher as well and found him fantastic. Great sense of humour and very down to earth. You'll probably meet all the other specialists as well during your Clomid cycles, as you will be scanned in the am and they have different doctors on call.
