Hi Ladies
We are about to see the specialist next week to get started in having a Frozen embryo replacement. We did IVF successfully in 2008. Just wondering if any one out there has done the frozen embryo replacement and how involved is it.
We did IVF in WGTN we have sinced moved to Tauranga so we are doing the replacement in Hamilton so a new team of doctors and nurses. So I feel like I'm starting all over again.
It largely depends on whether you do a natural or manufactured cycle. Are your cycles regular now? If so they'll probably suggest a natural cycle. That means that they track your cycle until ovulation, and then put back the thawed embie at that time - and offer progesterone support if necessary.
If your cycles aren't regular, or they decide for some other reason (scheduling sometimes) that a manufactured cycle is better then it is a little more involved. The protocol I'm doing is where you down regulate with buserelin (injections) from CD1 until about CD 14, then a blood test to check you've down regulated, then start estrogen tablets - your lining is checked a week or so later, then progesterone started in anticipation of the FET which would occur somewhere around 5 days after that.
Hi I have done two fet, I tried a natural cycle but was cancelled. The other two I took a pill for a week or so then transfer was a couple of days later. Involved no bloods or scans so was pretty stress less
