Yup. I don't remember why exactly, but I remember from when I was a teenager and my mum got me to chart for a couple of months so I knew what was going on with my body ... there will be someone else who knows why etc but I do remember that it's definitely possible then!

Hmm really? I would've said no... because usually the egg only lasts a max of 48 hours (in ideal conditions) after ovulation... so unless you have a hugely short luteal phase, therefore ovulating right before your period, I would say nup - not at all likely.
Live and learn I guess...

Yea I'm in agreeance with Angiebabe. After ovulation the egg is only good for around 48 hours....then it takes roughly a week for the egg (fertilised or not) to make its way from the fallopian tube to the uterus. During this time if it is not fertilised the ovum releases a hormone that tells the brain that no fertilisation has happened and it ceases to make oestrogen and progesterone....the drop in progesterone signals shedding of uteral lining (ie period).
In the time frame it takes for ovulation to occur, and travelling to the uterus..and implantation....I would say that there is no way of falling pregnant after having sex couple days before your period is due. It's impossible........If that were in any way plausible I'd have 4-5 more children!...since I'm avoiding falling pregnant and chart to make sure..which shows me the safest times are time before and after periods.
Some women experience bleeding/spotting similar to their period when pregnant and so can often be mistaken as an actual period....if that were the case then you'd be further along then you thought.

According to all the sex educators yes is is possible! I would say it is very, very unlikely though, as the others have said, unless you had a very short luteal phase and ovulated late...

I heard many years ago from a sex educator that it is possible. They said that sometimes simply the act of sex can cause a surge in hormones and make the ovary release an egg for fertilisation, at any time of the cycle, whether or not you've already ovulated previously in that cycle.

Hmmm well for the Surge in hormones to occur...it would have to counteract the drop in hormone levels (and the events that have occurred given the change in hormone concentrations) already occuring that would signal menses..which I'd find would rarely happen given the hormonal events that have already happened after ovulation.........also IF sex caused a surge in hormones...you would have had to have sex around your normal ovulation time in order for your cycle to go through all it's phases again in order for the 2nd ovulation theory to occur..............and how could this happen at the same time as the initial (regular) ovulation????????............if this were the case it would most likely cause you to have fraternal twins.........not cause you to fall pregnant days before AF is due.
Anywho wouldn't this question suggest that a period happened 2 days after sex??.....if so (and it's not actually implantation bleeding.....from conception 2 weeks before hand) then the corpus luteum is already degraded so can not be fertilised...........and there would be no endometrium for the CL to implant in...therefore no pregnancy.

Sometimes you can have a random late ov cycle, where the period would normally be due on such and such day, but will actually be late to accomodate the late ov...
I normally ov'd on CD11/12 and Af would show on CD23pm or CD24am, but one cycle a few months before concieving this one I ended up not ov'ing til CD19, essentially being 3-4 days before I was 'due' for af, but it didnt show until CD31
Hope that made sense
