Yes you do need to watch the baths. If you're about to give birth you won't be in the water long so the risk is very low. So mws will monitor the situation. A lot of the time people go into labour, or at least the active first stage of labour, without having their waters break and then the bath is ok. With Krystiana I laboured from 4pm on Saturday afternoon to 8am the next morning when I finally had ARM and then she was born at 9.50am.

i was induced at 7 pm frist slight contractions hit at midnight i rang my mum as soon as i figured out that i was in labour lol mum and her best friend turned up about half hour later and my best friend about ten mins after that so they were anuff of a distrction for me also had a bath but i felt like i was drowning at the time so i had to get out the gas was agreat distraction for me as i was to busy trying to breath it all in lol

I was just about to say the same thing.. with Paris, even though my waters had broken, my contractions started full on and fast and my midwife did not hesitate in recommending i go and have a bath. The main thing is if waters have broken and then nothing happens or things are progressing very slowly, then there is more risk that infection can get in and have enough time to really start to work it's nasties before baby arrives.

This time round I just continued my usual day and went to playgroup. When things were worse and I was in active labour I was reading stuff on oh baby and watching the patriot.
