The last three times we have been to the doctor for Hannah, she has had fluid and/or infections, and he raised concern 2 weeks ago (at his last check) that he hadn't actually seen them 'ok' for a while. He was to see us in 3 weeks' time to check that her ears have drained, and at that point hopefully they would have! but otherwise we're likely to be talking grommets. Well they have got worse, we went to a/hrs docs on the weekend, stronger ABs prescribed and we'll be seeing the doc when that is finished (a bit longer than 3 weeks in total). It's got me a bit concerned.
So I've read through Katherine's informative article about Emma getting grommets in recently, and had a brief exchange with Becks.... but I have a lot of questions!
I know Hannah is having trouble with hearing clearly at the moment, and might have been slightly that way all this year, but I don't think she's been like that for most of her last nearly 4 years. She hasn't had any trouble with talking. She is sounding most consonants, talking in sentences, all of that stuff. She's only missing the tricky consonants like k, g, j. I would have thought that was normal? Is it possible that she was mostly ok for 3 yrs and then her ears are having trouble draining since then?
She's not had any goopey discharge from her ears - not ever. Is that anything to do with needing or not needing grommets?
And for Palmy mums (Becks!

) do you have any idea how long the waiting list is (if we went public)?
Thanks
