Generally we have a routine in the evening that works quite well - we bath & feed Gina, change her again, then place her in cot and I read a bedtime story, then the mobile goes on (plays for about 5min) and she's asleep after that.
She's teething (we think) at the moment and our routine did not work last night! Took us over 4 hours and lots of crying (I feel sooo bad about that but we were sooo tired we just wanted to her sleep)! So I'm preparing for another night like that and curious what everyone else does. Thanks

Well we don't really having a routine as such yet, Cooper only being 2 weeks old and all! But for the past two nights we've had the "ticker" on his Angelcare monitor on and he's gone down a treat. I think it must sound like a heart beat to him or something.

I often put a CD on quietly for Ella (Brooke Fraser goes down well) and she has 2 Tag Blankie (taggie) toys in her bed to keep her happy before dozing off.  That said though, she's a real blessing with her sleepy-time routine - into the sleeping bag, blankets tucked in, quietly dozes off, unless we're not at home and then it's another story (that usually includes her just staying up longer and longer!).  If she won't settle and ends up crying, it'll quickly escalate into screaming and we know something's wrong.  Pamol is great for teething when they can't get to sleep because of it.

We put Daniel under his mobile for some play time with music for about 10 mins. Then give Daniel a bath (nice n deep with one of us usually) and then has a massage and get dressed. Then a bottle (usually about 50-100ml, he got fed usually an hour or two ago so it's just a top up and has his meds in it). Then a small chat or a story with dad. Gets put down, told nite nite then some static is put on the radio and we leave.

we still do the same old routine from day one...take her up telling her it is bedtime, going to bed etc...into darkened room, with light on in ensuite, sit on chair and feed her, have one of musical things playing from her cot, wind her, put her down (cuddle kiss etc), cover her, turn on oceans or butterfly, turn on mobile (she likes two things going - multi tasker?) and turn on monitor and walk out closing door....this follows either a play time in lounge downstairs, or a bath routine (every second night)

I change her nappy, feed her (usually in dim light), give her a kiss and put her to bed in darkened room (usually because Hannah is already to bed in the same room), make sure her teddy is within sight/reach, cover the blankets on her and pass the top one to her to hold (she holds it with both hands and sucks her fingers).

Occasionally she will cry, I usually have a 10 min CC rule nowadays and she settles down. Most of the time she is just quiet, I think she's more likely to cry if Hannah chats to her a bit and then goes to sleep - so maybe when Kryssi cries she's actually trying to get Hannah's attention! She started sleeping through the night about 2 weeks ago and I have decided it's time for that to continue. The last two nights she woke at 1am/3am and I kept an ear out for her but she did settle (about 15-20 minutes though I think) and then she slept until 7am like usual. Not sure what's going on there but she doesn't get a feed between 8pm and 5am any more.

Oh and she just cut her first tooth today! (which might explain the last two nights)

Our routine for Tristen is feed, bath/shower sometimes on his own & sometimes with one of us. Massage is hes real unsettled, feed again (well offered doesnt always take it), story & kisses goodnite & down into bed with a lullaby or relaxing music playing & leave a soft glow nightlight on which has a timer & turns off ater 5 minutes. He usually settles within half an hour max except for tonight but thats cause he had a 2 hrs late sleep!! this afternoon.

Tristen - 24/06/07
Rylan - 11/12/08
Angel Babies -14/08/05 & 21/01/2010
Curtis - 26/02/12
