Hi wise forum dwellers,
I moved to Wellington from Christchurch with my husband a week ago to start a fabulous new job, and found out this afternoon that I'm pregnant. Completely overwhelmed. It was always part of the plan but in another year or two. My family, friends with kids, and GP are all in Christchurch, but I'm told I need to find a midwife ASAP. Can anyone recommend a great one? There are so many on the midwives site I don't know where to start. I'm currently living in Hataitai.
Hello and congrats :). I hope you've managed to find a midwife now, but if you haven't my advice is do it ASAP - my experience was yes there are loads on the list but after ruling out the home birth midwives and the ones not covering my area, and the ones that I called several times that never called me back, I was left with little choice. Luckily I found Rosi Aspin who is an experienced midwife and works from the Horizon Radiology rooms on Taranaki Street in the CBD and I've heard good things about. Good luck :)
