Hi all New to this forum and new to the world of public funding and IVF. Not new to infertility though. I am worried I am going to run out of time as I am 38. Been to the GP to start referral process and just waiting to get a couple of tests done so referral can be sent off. Hubby and I have children and we were silly enough to muck around with our fertility by getting a vasectomy done. When we got it reversed, scar tissue from previous surgery scarred over and now we have around 1 million swimmers left. We have been trying to get pregnant ever since the reversal over 5 years ago.
Would love to chat with others who have been through this process too. We are new to Auckland as well and don't really know of any one to talk about all this stuff with.
Personally we're not dealing with a reversal but will be having ivf in dec / jan. When we were referred to fertility associates we paid for our first few appts which got us further ahead much more quickly. At the time the public wait time was 5mths and by that time we were well on the way to first lot of treatment (we had iui x 4 this year which didn't work). Hope your wait isn't too long. You've come to a great place for support. All the best.
