Hi,
I am new on here, my husband and I have recently decided to try for our first baby. I have been tracking my periods on my iPhone app which calculates your probable fertile dates, much he same as just counting dates. However my "fertile dates" don't seem to match up to other signs like mucus and cervix position etc in fact this month I had the thick tacky white mucus, but according to calculator I should have had thin egg white stuff. Still did the deed before and on dates but don't look like anything could swim through that haha ewwww. To be honest I have never before really taken much notice to this sort of thing.

What do you ladies go by? Dates? Or more physical signs? I don't really get any other signs like pain or anything.
My periods are very regular like clock work even down to time of day.

Ovulation is a very individual thing and many women don;t ovulate on day 14 (or have 28 day cycles!). I have just come off the pill recently so my cycle is all over the place as my body is re-adjusting. I swear by ovulation sticks to help guide me as to when it's ovulation time. For instance last cycle (first natural one) I ovulated on day 26!!!!!!! We are TTC our second child and for the first pregnancy I got pregnant the first month I used the ovulation sticks as it took the guesswork out of it (it also coincided with other symptoms of ovulation that you have mentioned so I knew it was right!). Good luck and make sure you are taking folic acid in the lead-up (ideally 4 weeks before conception!).

Hi anneka, I'm all about saving money, so I'm not sure if you are aware you can get folate on prescription from the Dr for $5? If that is what you are taking Elevit for, I'd suggest switching when you run out. If you normally take a multi vitamin and have just switched that's cool too :)

Hey spitfire

Thanks for advice, yes I assumed this was possible.
I think the elevit looks pretty good and as I'm a vegetarian I like to take a multi vit.
My husbands a Dr (not an Ob unfortunately for this life stage) and he has a saying "take your elevit for the hell of it" haha! Sure all the extra goodies can't hurt. I will however keep this in mind for sure. Just want to get a handle on my cycle and get the ball rolling.
