my darling daughter has started hitting again, doesn't always seem to be out of frustration just randomly hitting when we are playing etc. I've had a quick look at other parenting websites some suggest ignoring the behaviour when shes doing it for a reaction, which others seem to have good success with. I need help shes getting worse, I gave her a smack on the butt today when she hit me, but it doesn't really sit with me well, plus it must be confusing to smack her at the same time as saying 'no hitting'.
What we do with our DS almost 3 (which his childcare suggested as its how they deal with it)is when he hits whether he is playing or its out of frustration we grab his arms sit him down, say you hit you sit, then walk away. And refuse to play \ talk to him until he says sorry. Works an absolute treat with him.
