We have got really stuck into toilet training Kobe and man have we been going through toilet paper lately. I wish someone had of warned me to stock up when you are going to toilet train. He has been fully in undies (apart from sleeping at night) for 10 days now and doing so well, we have one or two accidents a day but I can handle that, has no problem going #2's in the big toilet or anything. Normally its just when he is busy playing with friends and forgets but honestly we go through about a roll of toilet paper a day now. I dont want to discourage him getting the paper himself but its getting pretty expensive so a hint to anyone about to toilet train, stock up on paper first!

I'm not really sure why you are going through one toilet roll a day. We toilet trained Harry at around the same time and he pretty much started with 'man wees' and didn't use any paper. If he had an accident (which was the same reason as Kobe) I would normally get a wet cloth (or baby wipes) rather than use toilet paper. Don't use that much either for #2's. In fact, me being the only female in this household uses more loo paper than the males here!

I'd have to say this whole toilet training for Harry was a bit beyond me so DH was the 'role model'.

The reason we use so much is cos its a novelty for Kobe while he is sitting on the toilet to play with the paper and as long as it keeps him on the toilet then Im not going to stop him, well within reason anyway, wouldnt let him run off a whole roll in one go or anything.
If he has an accident i use wipes or a wet cloth but otherwise just toilet paper and he does "shake like daddy does" but still likes to wipe aswell, about 3 times! and if it rips uneven he has to get more until it rips in a nice line, funny hope he isnt going to be obsessive!

nice tip robyn
maybe you could get the cheap bulk stuff from the warehouse or something and quickly swap it when kobe goes in there...or just have your stash of soft stuff in a cupboard

sounds like kobe is doing well with his toilet training though, something i'm definately NOT looking forward to!

With Andrew we had the "boys don't wipe they shake" and it has been great. With poos we have the kleenex flushable wipes in the special container that Andrew knows he can only have when he does poos.

Maybe have special books that stay in the toilet and he can have those while he goes instead of playing with toilet paper.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!
