Hi there
Has anyone else experienced the cord being on the side and only two blood vessels. Apparently it just means they will monitor more closely and told me not to panic!
I haven't experienced it but after I had my last baby the MW checked the cord and counted the 3 vessels and casually mentioned that some only have 2, so I guess it's not a biggy?
ds had a 2 vessel cord, they did an extra scan to make sure his stomach was filling up as it was takin along time. other than that it was mentioned a few times at specialist appoint and noted it preg notes and his deliverly notes.
My baby had a 2 vessel cord and I just had an extra scan later in pregnancy to check on growth and then she was checked by a paed in the hospital and then she had an ultrasound to check her kidneys but all was fine.
I got told pretty much as long as other things like heart etc are all ok, then it most likely means nothing at all but you just get a wee bit of extra attention and an extra sneak peek at your baby :)
