Hi, just wondering if anyone knows whether a childcarer needs to work through an agency for us to qualify for the childcare supplement? I have a friend interested in looking after DD part-time which would be great but not sure if she'd want to go through agency signup if it was a rigmarole.
It was easy peasy to sign up, just had to pass a house inspection & also police tests which take about a week. On a whole it wasn't too much of an effort.
But yes to get childcare supplement you have to be a registered caregiver.
Oh and on the tax front, I'm not overly sure how that works as this is my first year but I do know that you are not taxed on about $3.80 on your income, it might be more & I think that is per child too. Again, not sure as I haven't got to the end of the year.
