DS had his skin prick test the other day which came back clear for allergies which is good news. However I was expecting it probably would, as he has suspected cows milk protein intolerance rather than milk allergy. He's been dairy free and on neocate since he started solids, we discovered the intolerance through him having formula.
So on Monday after the test, I decided to give him a small piece of cheese to try. He loved it, and he didn't puke which was good, as before if he had any dairy he would puke. So I thought it was a good sign, but then overnight he was up most of the night squirming and arching, lots of gas and seemingly a tummy ache. So Im thinking that dairy is still a no go.
Does that sound about right for a bad reaction? Anyone who has done a challenge of dairy, how did it go? When did you decide to do it again? He never had rashes or skin symptoms, but got gassy, spilly, constipated, tummy aches and bad reflux when he was on cows milk formula.

Yep that is what happens to Cooper when I trial a food, he's up & down when he normally sleeps through & he refluxes again, usually crying for a bowl cause he thinks he's going to be sick. Usually falls off the bed cause he's squirming. We do get the eczema the next day though. He was negative on his skin pricks.
I'd leave it and trial it again in a few months time.
I tried DD on cows milk at 12 months after a week her eczema flared up again and she wouldn't touch her cereal.
Took her off it - I have since tried her on the lactose free milk this week with no ill effects and she's fine with yoghurt was talking to someone today and the cultures in yoghurt break down the lactose making it easier to digest.
I'm going to stick with the lactose free anchor milk for a while, DD drank her custard I'd made with it and on the plus side she's started sleeping better.
