Hello everyone,
I am 35 and my partner and I have been trying to conceive with no luck. After various tests I am on the waiting list for fertility assistance, but my doctor has suggested doing ovulation tests in the meantime.
I have looked online and there are so many brands and types and I am feeling a little overwhelmed and scared at the moment..
Could anyone recommend the best place/type to buy?
Many thanks
I asked on here and was recommended to get them from trademe, which I did and they have been fine. Have a search on here- there are heaps of older threads on here about opk's and how to use them.
I used the David ones from Deal extreme, super cheap and really fast to get to you. Apart from the foreign language they are written in they work just like any other OPK
I have used two types of opk from baby4you and the sticks where you dip them in a cup of pee were ok but I found them hard to distinguish the results. The other type were in-stream opk and they were a little better but a bit more expensive.
After those I decided to try a much more expensive product by clearblue, they were digital opk and when it it was positive it had a smiley face, and had a blank circle on negative days.
I have used them for 3 cycles and they were spot on as I was also charting my temperature. I have irreular cycles so used these so I could understand what was happening when.
I bought them from the UK and got 20 sticks for less than the price you can buy them in NZ for 7.
I used them in conjuction with the in-stream ones. Kinda of extreme and expensive but I have no regrets.
hi i use the ones from baby4u seller on trademe. Just the really cheap ones ($3.00 for three months worth). They work just fine, as long as you remember that a test line is ONLY positive when it's the same or darker than the control. I was confused the first few times I used them as I had a strong test line, but it wasn't until I got a really dark test line that I understood what a positive result looked like. I would also recommend testing in the afternoon after you haven't been to the loo for a while and probably best to test at the same time each day. I hold on from lunch time onwards and test when I get home from work at about 5pm.
