Topic: Second Pregnancy-share Posted: 26 August 2011 at 7:57am |
Just wondering what everyones second preganancy and labour was like?
Im 35wks & at midwife yesterday shes said Im 1.5-2cm dialated (says normal for second pregnancy) and bubs is now engaged. Ive been feeling like so much is going on in there & we both think I wont go over 38 wks.
Also was your second labour fast or what was it compaired to first?

My first pregnancy I went to 40+6 and my labour was 20 hours long from first contraction to DS arriving. He was engaged from around 32 weeks (he was posterior though)
Second time round, DD made her entrance at 39 weeks, labour was 9 hours from first contraction until she was born. She was fully engaged a my last MW appt at 38 weeks

My first was born at 36+3 with a 3.5hr labour. My 2nd was born at 39+2 with a 1.5hr labour. 2nd labour was less intense and didn't seem to hurt as much

Yes what was different about your second pregnancy? So far in my second pregnancy I think I can feel movements already. But what else is different? I seem more tired than last time....what other things do I have to 'look forward to'?!

I had weeks of very painful BH in my 2nd whereas I had almost none with the first. Wasn't early labour but sure felt like it. They were painful but just BH

Yep Ive had heaps of BH too, you seem to notice everything so much more. Im way more tired I think that doesnt help running around after a toddler thou.
I noticed movement early.
Tiredness is the biggest thing for me!

I second the tiredness but I wonder too how much is related to running round after DD1. I also feel heavier and bigger, but I'm not, and have had BH (not painful,) but didn't even know what they were 1st PG. Lots of PG symptoms this time round, but hardly any the first time. And this is girl too, lol

Afterpains are worse. Jelly Belly for 3-4wks longer.
Well comparing 1st it took me 7-8hr to get to 5cm, with 2nd I was 5cm about and hour & half from show/first niggles, I was planned for elective so rest of labour rather quickly as c/s only took 20mins lol, so sorry cant compare the 2nd half of dilation. but 0-5 was def faster 2nd time
1st V/B 14hours.
aching everything seems to ache/tired much quicker 2nd time around, well im actually on my 3rd now.
