Good morning!
We're introducing a HOT Topic each day on the forums things that we get questions from others about, that we'd love to know, etc if you have any ideas then please email renata@ohbaby.co.nz with Hot Topic ideas too :)

Today's Hot Topic is - What makes you smile about your child?

My answer :)
I have 3 kiddies
With baby no.1 who is now 5 - It makes me smile when she randomly runs to me and gives me a big cuddle and kiss then goes off and does her thing.
Last night she left a message on our answer phone telling me I was the best mummy in the world and she loves me with all her heart - I melted! so beautiful and I couldn't wipe the smile off my face for hours :)

baby no.2 (now 4) makes me smile when she holds my face in her hands and bats her eyelashes and smiles and tells me she loves me and gives me a big kiss...she always wants cuddles and I love it :) can't get enough!

baby no.3 (now 2) just thinking of him makes me smile - he is such a good boy...two days ago I came home in the middle of the day to pick up something from home...when I had to leave he said - "By mummy, have a good day!" it was just too cute! This morning when I woke up - he asked me if I had a good sleep :) he he! and I love when I get home from work - as I'm walking up the stairs I can hear him running yelling mummy and he greats me at the top of the stairs with a HUGE cuddle and dribbly kiss :)

mmmmm warm fuzzies :)
I love my family :)

When I see my DD giggle or smile at me, and also when we pull up the drive and daddy has got home first and all you hear from her is Dada Dada Dada..... or if we are out driving she sees a yellow car she points and says Dada Dada dada....

At this age now, I love when she wants a cuddle and you ask for a kiss and she gives it to you straight away as she knows what your talking about and a cuddle to follow

The fact that even though he has been sick almost all winter, he still manages a smile or giggle or pokes his tongue out to let me know he is doing o.k

I love when DS comes running up to me saying Mama and gives me a big hug, this alway makes me smile even if I'm having a really rough day. Today's smiling moment came when I turned the TV on so we could listen to some music and he started bopping along to JLo while emptying toys onto the floor.

DD makes me smile everytime she wakes and I get her arms out from her wrap, while doing a huge stretch, gives me the biggest gummy smile.

My bubba is almost 13 months now and soooo many things she does make me smile, but my favourite is when she is sitting on the floor playing and she looks up at me and catches my eye and gives me a great big smile

Also when she gives me cudlles she puts her head on my shoulder and pats me on the back and says "awwwwwwwwwwww", hehe so cute!

I love when my 3 year old DS hops into bed with me in the morning, snuggles up and sings to me or just chatters away - a 3 year old mind is an amazing thing I love how a kiss from me can heal some pretty big hurts.

And with my DD who is 18 months - where do I start? She's at such an amazing age. Her cheeky grin just makes me melt and forgive whatever naughtiness she's up to, and I love how excited she gets about so many things like dinosaurs, dogs, cats and farts.

But I think the best times are when they are being sweet and cuddly towards each other.

Every single thing about her (even the naughtiness can make me smile....maybe not until a couple of hours after)
Her singing, kisses, dancing, hugs, sense of wonder in the smallest things, the list could go on & on.

When my just turned one DS has emptied the bookshelf for the millionth time, selects a book off the floor and crawl-shuffles it over to me, holds it up and says 'ta', then giggles excitedly as I read it to him

I love it when DD is asleep - when she's relaxed with her hands behind her head.

DS2 when we are in the car and get the "I need to go to the TOILET" plea, to which I respond, "ok, can you hold on for a bit longer?"
DS2 responds "Yep, I can hold on" and grabs hold of his door handle!!!

Watching DS1 dedicatedly helping his grandad build new pens in the calf sheds.

Listening to and watching both the boys playing together, especially when their games include their cars, animals etc 'talking' to each other!
4 boys!! 7 years, 5 years, 2 years and 8 weeks...

there are alot of things so i will give my top for each of my babies.

ds1 who is 6yrs old has autism so he finds some things a bit difficult and according to drs should be unsocial so what makes me smile is when he comes home and promtly goes to his bag and proudly pulls out a certificate with "for helping another child in need" this makes me smile because inspite of his problems he still manages to be a very polite and considerate to others.

ds2 is 5yrs he makes me smile when ever he opens his mouth and says something totally new and completely clear (he has some mild speech delay)

ds3 is 3yrs, when he tries to be like his big brothers, apparently he wants to go to school now too. (ds2 started on monday) so he puts his bag on his back as we walk out the door.

ds4 is 18mths and he just makes me smile all the time, he is starting to talk now so he is always chatting away most of the time we cant understand but its still nice hearing him try to talk.

I love love love my big girl snuggled up next to me, she rolls over and puts her litle arms around my neck and says I love you Mummy, In the cutest sweetest voice I have ever heard. I also love her singing me lovey songs

I just adore watching my little girl copy her sister and the smile she gives her when her big sis plays with her

I love love love the way my little girl stretches her chubby wee arms out to be picked up and rocks her head from side to side when she is 'singing' and smacks her lips after a breastfeed

I love they are both free spirits, and clever and beautiful and have a wonderful witty sense of humor

I just love everything about them (except for the fact they are insomniacs!)
