How early is too early??

How early is too early for a courier to deliver something to a residential address??

We got a delivery at 630am this morning... not happy.

Now I know a lot of families with kiddies would be awake at that time but for once we werent! And I know drivers deliver early to homes so that actually get someone at home (not an issue here as I am a SAHM)

But overall I think 630am is too early...I rang the company and they said 6am is the earliest their drivers can deliver!! I would accept 7am but even then...

I think next time I order something to be delivered I will put do dont deliver before say... 8am and see if they listen!

lol, I am the opposite I don't care if they come early..I'm up.

I have not had a sleep in for years.

Last week we had an attempt of delivery at 2.55pm, school pick up time & then they did not put it out for delivery till 2 days later grr, so I would rather get it early than 2 days later & that one had to be signed for, usually they leave it by the door...so no problems with early or late delivers then.

We had a phone call the other morning from the butcher at 6.30am and I thought that was too early too! I don't think anything should be happening before 7am

That is way to early. We are lucky we are in the country, we only have fastway that comes out and thats mid morning. All the rest get delivered by the mail man mid afternoon.

i worked for courierpost prior to having my son - yes they can deliver at 6.00am you have to remember they do have a job to do and they work from 4am until sometimes 7pm and if they dont get there parcels out every hub ( there are 4 hubs a day ) they get in mega trouble and can loose there contracts, i know it suxs having to get up that early but what you can do for future is sign something called an ATL form ( authority to leave ) that means they leave all your parcels signature or non signature at the door but that means EVERY parcel but that means no more getting out of bed early has to be a safe place and you stipulate where you want it left.

Oh and they CANT leave at the letterbox cause if it goes missing they have to pay for the parcel out of there own pocket ( the courier himself ) not the company as the couriers are all contractors, and you would not be happy at the amount of time the claim takes to go through can be up to a month after the investigation process

I got a delivery the other morning. Two story house - so I had to walk down the stairs. It was a sign for delivery, but by the time I got to the door they were pulling out of the driveway and had just left it there.

I waved for them to come back (thankfully the did). Told them to wait wile I inspected the package as it was fragile, and if it was broken I needed that noted, and then asked them to bring it inside. It was a huge package and at 6 months pregnant, I was not going to lug it inside myself.

What annoyed me was why ring the bell if you are not going to wait the 30 seconds for someone to answer the door!

have had deliveries really early too - and they usually just knock and leave - or worse is if it doesn't need a signature have been home and seen a parcel 'fly' over the side of the deck - they threw it rather than walk it up the stairs! Luckily it was clothing so wasn't damaged.

I've had massive issues with a courier too, he comes between 6 and 7am and we're nowhere near the depot so can't possibly be first up on his route. He also left me a carseat meant for the neighbour the other day to save him coming back! (I was having one delivered too.) He throws parcels from driveway to doorway even though there are only like 3 steps to walk up, and he has 3x before left cards saying he's called and no one was home when i've blatently been in the house, and seen him walk to the letterbox, leave the card and drive off again. This is a fastway guy. But the yellow courier guy is awesome - if no one is at home here he delivers it to my moms work instead, and he's twice taken boxes right into the lounge for me. He's grand.

The door wouldn't be so bad. But a bedroom window when the curtains are shut is just plain rude. Trouble is by the time I get out there he's gone so I can't yell at the idiot
