Daycare

Few quick questions .. I'm starting back at work fulltime in 4 weeks. I have miss 8months on 2 waiting lists for daycares but if she can't get in on time she may have to go 2 a nanny/inhome type care until she is into a centre .. she will be only going 3days a week maybe even two.
First things i'm not to keen on inhome BUT if she was to go .. what happens if the carer is sick? Do the sort out another one say through Porse or do I get a call last minute to 'sort' it?? also can i expect a in home carer to use cloth nappies??
Ok so all going well we will get a place at one of the two centres .. would be prefered and much easier.
She is 8months old - no not worries about painting etc yet because the infant areas don't have it .. but should i expect ruined clothing? or wold it be ok to dress her in her normal stuff (not her "BEST" outfits) ..
Also what do you pack as "lunch" we are BLW and lunch around here is whatever I can find/make fast enough lol so would need to sort it the ngiht before or first thing is the am.

With daycare normal clothes are fine, just don't send the good stuff in case it gets lost, stained etc. Daniels daycare do do painting with the babies and under 2s and they get to play outside and in the sand pit so they can get messy.

Hi I use a PORSE in home carer.
If the carer is unavailable for whatever reason, then there are usually "emergency places" available with other carers.
Using cloth is not a problem. They just pop them in a plastic bag for me to deal with later.
He does do messy play and painting etc, so I usually send a change of clothes (older ones) for them to change into before he migh get dirty.
Lunch is a bit of a hassle, but I just do the usual, cheese slices, rice crackers, yoghurt, mini muffins , fruit chunks etc etc
For me I reckon in home care rocks. I would not choose to send my boy to a centre, but you do need to find yourself a good carer besause there are some pretty average ones out there

My girl's in a room for under 2's at a daycare and gets grubby as can be. Better now that she's walking, not crawling, through the sandpit, but still pretty grubby. They also do painting with them, and all kinds of messy play. Most of the clothes that go there regularly are stained but to me it shows how much fun she's been having. I just buy cheap warehouse/kmart type clothes for her to wear. She is total queen of the sandpit though, so spends hours in there each day getting messy. Probably more so than your average kid!
