So I have bought a beautiful Moses basket with organic wool mattress for my baby, however the mattress smells like sheep (I know it's wool right).

Does anyone know of a way to get rid of this smell?

Is it 100% dry? Mine smelt like sheep (and my old school jumper) when it got wet but dry had no scent..

Yes it is definitely dry. I have had it airing in our sunroom for the last few days. I have heard that maybe soaking it in a 1 part vinegar, 2 part water bath and then drying will remove the smell. Thoughts?

mine doesn't smell and it's a wool one, so I reckon it must be a bit damp too...

sorry must have posted at the same time...

ETA - I'd ring the place you bought it from and ask them how to get rid of it...

I'd ring the company and ask too - hate for it to then smell like vinegar lol.

It depends on how it smells like sheep, I reckon. We had a pure wool duvet that smelt a little like lanolin - it was bone dry and I quite liked it.

But if it smells like wet sheep I'd say it's damp...
