Zac has always been fine with DH, but over the past 4 days, as soon as DH picks him up or tries to give him a bottle, he starts screaming hysterically and we can barely calm him down. DH hasn't done anything differently although has been busy at work so maybe not home as much. If Zac is on the floor playing or I am holding him and DH talks to him then he'll get big smiles and goos etc but if he picks him up then its all over. Not fair on Dh and not fair on me as I'm not getting a break!! One of the kindy mums had cuddles for about 5 mins the other day and he seemed ok although I think he was getting ready to cry when I took him back. But other than that, no one else has held him so I'm not sure if it's a daddy thing or just a I only want mummy thing. What to do???

I can imagine this won't be what you want to hear, but DD2 was like this for quite a while and the only thing that worked for us was time! When she was older (ie: sitting up on her own / crawling) he would engage her in one on one activities with me still in the room, and we built up really slowly from there. She is great with him now at 19mo, although I am still "it" for bedtimes and naps, but that's OK as it isn't really a problem for us.
