So we bought 2 Evenflo Triump Advance Lx carseats off Kiwibaby.com on sale for $269. I have been researching for a couple of weeks as wanted to continue to Rearface for as long as possible (within a small budget). I thought it was a fantastic deal as everything I read up online and the kiwibaby website said that the Evenflo Triump Advance Lx could RF to 35 lbs (15kg)and FF to 50 lbs (22kg).
Bought on Sunday and just one not two arrived today (but thats not what am concerned about not yet anyway!).
The instruction manual and the sticker on the carseat say you cannot rear face or use for as long as the kiwibaby website (and all the other sites I read info on)say.
The manual with the seat says you can RF to 30 lbs (or 13.6 kg) and use FF to 47 lbs ( or 21.3 kg).
I am dissapointed, I chose this seat especially because we could use it longer particular the RF feature.
What would you do? Probably not worth us returning them as I guess we would have to pay for postage and it is still a good seat - just not as good as I thought it was or as advertised.
If you're really not happy about it, and would rather keep looking for an alternative then you should ring them and discuss it. I would also suggest they pay postage as clearly you wouldn't have bothered even buying it if they hadn't put the correct information on their website. That's me though...
I know Mrs_B, everything I have read about this carseat on various websites reviews etc and where I bought it from says RF to 15kg.
So it is odd and I have reread it a few times! But there is no doubt that my one clearly says on the manual on page 1 no less RF 2.3 - 13.6 kg (5-30 lbs) this is repeated a couple of times in book also. There is also a sticker saying same in large writing on the carseat.
Starting to wonder if so cheap because different specification or older carseats being sold? Manual says - 2009 and exp date on seat is July 2016.
Under the consumer guarantees act you have the right to reject the goods, and they must provide a full refund. They must also cover consequential loss such as postage.
Are the Evenflo Triumph LX and the Evenflo Advance Triumph LX the same carseat? Or is it possible that the 'Advance' bit is the increased weight range and they've put the specifications for that model on the website?
Very Weird. It is an Evenflo Advance Triumph LX though -it says so on box, manual and carseat. So strange that my one says RF to 13.6 kg.....
When did you get yours Mrs_B and when does your one expire.
My one has French (mode d'emploi) at least I think its French and English writing on box and manual DH wondered if different specification is for French Market different standards?
I will definately tell shop as I have to ring also to find out why only one has arrived so far. I will see what they say about it first.
Not sure of the expiry date but we bought it about a year ago and pretty sure it was manufactured in 2009. I'd be interested to hear what Kiwibaby have to say.
Agree kiwibaby don't have the word advance next to their advert but the box and manual say Evenflo Triump Advance LX and as I said before the specs next to it are different to what my one says.
