Floyd is part of the early morning team (between 5.00-5.45) normally. When he wakes he seems to be starving. We have tried leaving him, giving him a bottle etc but the second we are up he wants breakfast and will cry until he gets it.
He has a decent dinner and a bottle before bed so he should be able to last. Do you think its habit or is he genuinely hungry?

An example....Wednesday nights dinner, couscous with veges and chicken, 5 strawberries, a yoghurt, 1/4 apple at 5.45pm 150ml cows milk 6.30pm.
Wake up 5.25..150ml bottle 6.00am, 2x weetbix with 3 strawberries at 6.30 (he was screaming while l was preparing it 'hungy Mummy'

Id say if he's eating it all he is genuinely hungry... Bugger though! - that's an early start! My daughter use to do that too, but she was more tolerant of stretching it out a bit, cos I figured if I fed her as soon as she woke at that time she'd continue to wake at that time. So I tried to occupy her doing other things so breakfast was at 6.30 at the earliest. It worked for us and now she generally sleeps until then. But she was never screaming with hunger...
mum to 3 lovely girls :D

Wow that's an early start and a lot of food!

I wonder what would happen if you made dinner a bit later and the bottle a bit later too...

Does he have snacks during the day?

My PN told me Breakfast (about 8am) snack (about 9.30-10am) lunch (12) snack (2.30-3pm) and dinner about 6pm. As a rough guide.

Has it been going on for long? Maybe it's just a phase?
My boys a bit younger, he gets 200ml after dinner (5.30) about 6.30. He eats what I think is a huge breakfast for a little man. Cereal & 1 or 2 slices of toast, but he's not screaming for it.
Though sometimes when we get in from work, he's screaming for dinner. I say if he eats it, feed him.

l feel like all he has done today is eat!!! So maybe he is going thru a growth spurt. He's been an early waker for weeks maybe months (well thats what it feels like) l'm thinking l may have to play the mean Mummy card and try and hold him out ten mins each day until its closer to 7!

Both my boys are like this, the second they are awake they want breakfast. The youngest (22 months) still cries till it's made, the older one (3.5yr) has stopped doing that and although he will be asking he sits in his chair and waits.
It is extremely rare for my boys to sleep in past 6.30am (sorry probably not what you want to hear)
Mine also have big appetites, they eat well all day but still are hungry hungry hungry first thing. Mine down 3 weetbix each at brekkie time and then will normally want fruit, toast or some crackers after that.

Geepers thats early lol!

Sounds like he is genuinely hungry. Id probably try a later dinner and bedtime and see if that helps? Just as a trial and error thing.

My two at the moment wake at 6.30, but I can usually get them to stay in bed until 7/7.30 with a bottle of milk each and then they have breakfast round 8am.
