I know there are a few people out west auckland - who can maybe help me with a question.

I had believed i had installed the car seat you get through the trust scheme (evenflo tribute 5) correctly, but then everyone i had spoken to who also had convertable rear facing seats were using the tether which bolts into the car, meaning the tether straps are running along the top of the carseat to the boot of the car. No matter how much i look in the instructions, i cant see that this needs to happen for this seat, but im questioning myself something cronic, and a bit freaked out ive done it wrong.

Please can someone else who has this seat let me know if you needed to use the tether when it was rear facing or not?

I didn't use the tether when rear facing. Check the instruction book as every one is different but I don't think you need it.

Phew! Sorry seemed like the randomess question. I was so sure i had it in properly (turns out i do) but then when you hear SO many people say that of course you need the tether you start to question yourself, and your instruction book!

thanks for putting my mind back at rest :)
