Topic: Got my cluck on ;) Posted: 19 October 2010 at 8:10am |
So we have been trying for our third since the start of this year and have had one miscarriage in the process. Now I have always been clucky but in the last few weeks I have been hanging out with a friend and her newborn and I actually get so clucky holding her that I come pretty close to actual tears lol. I just so badly miss everything about newborns. Espcially how squishy they are. I'm not posting for advice or anything just felt like sharing with someone
I know we haven't been trying for nearly as long as some of the veterans on this site and we are extremely greatful for our twins but I am just now starting to get a little sad that it hasn't happened yet. I'm not charting we are just going with the flow. I'm starting to think maybe I should get on the charting bandwagon but I know I would be useless at it lol. It would probably just add more stress at this point. Grrr anyone wanna just give me a free baby? lol.

Lisa - I know how you feel, took us what it seemed like forever to conceive this one and it is heartbreaking waiting for it to happen... even with two kids already I still desparately wanted one more.. it took 18 months in the end, and that is with crazy long cycles (my other two were conceived first pop so I wasn't expecting it to take long)... You have PCOS too, don't you? I found charting helpful to identify when I had oved, and I think it is much more useful for people like us with very long unpredicatable cycles as it is far easier to miss ov than if you have a pretty regular cycle... I found it too stressful to temp much in the TWW, so just really used it to try and pin down when I had oved...
Hugs!!! Hope it happens real soon!!!

Thanks Freckle Yep I have PCOS too. It makes it even harder when you go 2 or three months without AF and you constantly test because your sooo sure you must be preggers It's driving me nuts! I should no better than to pin my hopes on a late AF because it's ALWAYS friggin late lol.
Oh well, I'm trying not to stress it's not like I don't have my hands full anyway and to be honest the first 6 months of TTC has flown by without any real stress but I guess just being exposed to this gorgeous baby so much lately has really hit it home how badly I want this. I think every woman expects that once they start trying it will happen quickly and it's always such a disapointment when it doesn't and especially when you throw a miscarriage into the mix. That was not a fun time Wow this is turning more & more into a woes me post by the minute hehe. I guess because we haven't really told anyone we're trying I haven't had the chance to vent how I'm feeling. So thanks girls.

I know how you feel. I am super clucky and waiting for DH to be ready. I am being made redundant at the end of January 2011 so now would be the perfect time to have our 3rd child but I promised DH I wouldn't pressure him and that we will try when he is ready and not before. Until we actually start TTC I feel up in the air about whether we'll even have another baby
Although I feel absolutely blessed with the beautiful children I have and if we choose not to or can't have another my life will be complete with another baby it will be complete-er

We aren't actively trying yet, although if it happens - it happens, I am still BFing Lily and we've had a few woopsies which have resulted in nothing. Lily took 2.5 years of woopsies to happen.
I so know how you feel! I just have to see a NB to get all warm and fuzzy inside and close to tears!
ETA: I am very grateful for Lily

Lisa, you would be able to do charting, seriously, im pretty dense at times and I could manage it.
And if nothing else, the charting girls are a great source of comfort and support, thats what I liked best about it

Lisa, if you start charting then you might be able to pin down when ovulation happens and that way you won't get your hopes up with 'late' AF. (maybe). It isn't that hard, just the remembering part sucks at first...I have had thermometer by my bed for probably two months and haven't taken my temp yet lol!

heck lisa you could have borrowed liam when he was tiny whenever you liked ;)
i know how the mc things feels..like you should have a baby and you dont and it just makes it even worse..i hope it happens very soon for you!
I never charted etc..for me i would get obsessive..heck i already took like 30 tests with each pregnancy...but they seem like a really supportive lot as Kelly said.. :)

Lisa I understand how you feel from the MC side of things. Prior to my first MC I was so relaxed about TTC but now I feel like I ache for my baby. It's almost like being UTD has turned on my clucky maternal instincts.
I alos understand your reluctance to chart I have found it does really play with my head and makes me nuts (well more than normal), I've decided to just chart over ov start about CD11 and then I am going to stop once ov is confirmed (thats the plan anyway) this way it doesn't consume me for the whole month. I do have reasonably regular cycles though so you might find that tactic a little harder, but something to consider.
