Topic: Daycare Options/Opinions Posted: 30 August 2010 at 10:23pm |
Hey there,
DD goes to daycare and has done since 3 months. We are paying $170PW just to send her, they provide her cows milk.
The daycare she is at, is only sectioned for birth - 2 yrs, and then 2yrs - school age.
I'm looking a Lollipops Educare which is $220PW and provides nappies, and food. I like this one because she will have variety with meals, and they are sectioned to age groups, plus the centre is ALOT bigger than our current one.
What are peoples opinions on Lollipops Educare, and how much are you paying/what area and what does this include for your centre?
Thanks!

Our DD (3.5 yrs) is in a Lollipops centre. Before she turned 3 we were paying $270 p/week and supplying nappies. The daycare supplies meals.
There is a separate section for under 2's, then there is a toddlers section for the 2 year olds and a bigger kids section for 3 and up.
We've had her in 2 different Lollipops centres, one was amazing, the one she is in now we are happy with but have had the occasional issue where we dont think some things they do are age appropriate.

i think its hit and miss, although they are a big company the centres are all different. The quality of a centre all depends on the staff. Go in and stay a while talk to the staff and see what goes on at the centre, parents are drawn to different things about centres, what suits some may not suit others.
If it feels right to you then it probably is.
$220 is abolut standard in Hamilton for a centre owned by a big company. it will definately be easier for you with them supplying nappies and food

Sorry I can't help much cos I don't know about lollipops, I was suprised how much it was to send the kids there tho, where I work and my children go is $185 per week with nappies and food provided.
But we do live in Te Puke and that is pretty standard around here, altho most don't do food and nappies.

We've decided to go ahead with it. Certain things have come up since we have basically decided as well which made it a lot easier.
