    Posted: 03 July 2010 at 11:43am
So, I have finally worked out why my DD wont feed properly on my right breast. She seems to have started swallowing a heap of air while feeding and after about half a dozen sucks needs to be burped where she brings up a big burp! I have resorted to feeding lying down in bed with her on her right side, and me feeding her both breasts, and its WAY better, she only needs burping a couple of times a feed rather than every minute!

Has anyone else experienced this or have any ideas of how I can get her to feed normally without swallowing so much air? Thanks

Have you got her latched properly? I think my boy used to make a whistling noise on one of my boobs & he took on more air.

Yeah Mac use to do that too.
I found that feeding laying down fixed the problem and he appears to have grown out of it now and I can feed normally without any issues.

She does it occasionally, usually when I am engorged a bit or rather full, or if I am near empty

I would lay down but I find it hard now my milk has settled as my boobs aren't as big so I have to almost lay on top of her!
