Well, maybe it's a crazy idea but let me share it anyway

Researches show that the earlier you introduce your child to foreign languages, the better his or her chances to speak them fluently later on are. CDs and movies in foreign languages don't contribute much to this process. The best thing is to involve your child into a live interaction with native speakers (If interested, here is one of the scientific talks about thishttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fcb8nT0QC6o&feature=related).

I am a native Russian/ Ukrainian speaker and mother to a 3 months old baby girl. I do speak English and some other languages but just those two I speak without any accent. My idea is to make a sort of a language exchange coffee group for babies/young children and their parents where we can play, sing songs, read books and just interact with children using English, Russian and other languages you are fluent in. Is anyone interested?

I so would be if I was closer to Wellington!!! I looked into language groups when Jake was a baby coz I thought it'd be awesome but we're too far away from anywhere that does that.
Good idea though - def not crazy

I would be - and am in Welly.

I studied Russian at school, but can barely remember any!

I don' t speak anything fluently other than English but would love to be involved in this (can do a few words of Welsh, and a bit of French and that is it!)

It's great that you are interested! No worries, English counts! Besides. I know no words in Welsh so would love to learn them from you as well Just left you a private message with my contact info.

I hope there will be more "language lovers" around to join us
