QuoteReplyTopic: what would be the best pattern Posted: 23 September 2009 at 12:12pm
for pocket nappies? I used the Wee Weka sml-Med pocket nappy pattern for Jack when he was about 1yr although I did add about 1cm each way, he is still wearing them now. So that pattern seems too big for Ben. At his last Plunket check about 3.5wks ago (at 8wks old) he was 5.76kg and he has been putting weight on pretty steadily. He is rather long though so not really very chubby.
So after that novel, can anyone suggest the best pattern to use for pockets for Ben? I need to get it right first time as MIL is making the nappies for me and she is in the SI so I can't try them on him as she sews them.
Ditto on tnn has a really good OSFM pocket nappy pattern, from memory its $5 to buy i think it has adjustable elastic in the legs.
Or there is a pattern called Button boo which works well for alot of diferent sized bubs, his one also needs to be bought from a tnner- Im not sure if they are on oh baby.
You could try adjusting the wee weka and play around with it a bit, thats how I came up with my drw full of patterns lol.
There are other free patterns on the nappy network website, can your MIL make one at a time and see which fits best? Its all trial and error when it comes to making nappies to fit your bubba.
MIL is in Nelson and we are in AKL so it isn't really possible to try as she sews. Have found my first nappy made from Wee Weka so will try that on Ben and see how we go, otherwise I might look at the other patterns you mentioned, thanks
