Pod? Are you referring to a capsule?

If so, they can stay in it till they outgrow it (each capsule has different weight or height limits), then they need to go into a carseat.

You can go directly to a covertible carseat and skip the capsule part altogether. (a convertible carseat means it can face rearwards and forwards, an ordinary carseat can only face forwards) - you want your child to rear face as long as humanly possible

a capsule can go up to 13kgs although some only go to 9kgs.

I think our capsule (we rented from plunket) went to 9kgs we only used it for 6months then went to a convertible carseat.

for this baby we bought a capsule which goes to 13kgs but will likely only use it for 6 months. after that they start getting too heavy.

I went straight into a car seat second time around, mainly cause we already had it & it had a newborn insert. I found it really easy as if I was going anywhere I either had him in my sling or in the buggy.

We've just moved DS out of the capsule and into his car seat - he's nearly 4 months.

Our capsule went up to 9kg or 66cm. He's only 7.5kg, but 64cm long. We could have kept him in it a wee bit longer, but it's so heavy to carry him around in!

We found the capsule great when he was a freshie as we could transfer him to and from the car, and onto the snap n' go wheels without him waking up.

He's not sleeping so much (if at all) in the car any more, so it's fine getting him in and out of his car seat.
