Yes me! I'm 36 and TTC for # 1.
Been off bcp since Jan, but then I've been away from home with work for the last six, only now are DH and I getting a chance to spend any time together.
I'm hoping we get lucky this month, otherwise I'll be giving birth at 37!

How long have you been trying mrsg1? I have been off bcp since Oct last year and charting since then as well. This is our first month trying and our wedding is 3 weeks away so I'm not too bothered at the results this month. Trying to keep this as low key as possible! If that is at all possible. Very easy to become incredibly focused on this baby making business!

Really this is our 1st month, I've been off bcp since Jan but I've been away with work since April only home on the weekends.
I've started temping this month, more so I have some idea of what my cycle is doing.
I did go from a regular 28 day cycle to a now regular 35 day cycle after thinking I might be preggers in May.
I saw my GP this week (had a sinus infection to clear up) and he said to give it a good 12 months of TTC and then come back to him, so if I'm not preggers by Jan 2010 I'll see him then.
My cycle is regular and AF is good, apart from being overweight I'm otherwise in good health so really there's no medical reason why we can't concieve.
My Dr did say it takes longer at 36 than at 26 to conceive. I found I did get a little obcessed esp when my cycle changed, and after spending a fortune on negative HPTs decided that it needed to stop.

I'm 34 and about to try for number 1..........does this count as late 30's??
I keep getting told its late to be trying by women who are in their 50's and 60's but I didn't want kids when I was in my 20's

Its not too late, my SIL is a mid wife and she's had lots of women between 35-40 having their first.
34 is a great time to be TTC
I didn't want kids in my 20s either, I didn't meet DH until I was 27 so was never going to be a young mum.

I had just turned 37 when I fell pregnant with my first, and we got lucky on our first month of trying. My midwife told me I am far from being the exception these days and that many of her first time mums are in their mid to late 30's. Also several first time mums in our antenatal group were 30-somethings as well.
I did chart for the couple of months before we tried so that we could focus on our fertile time but also because I was convinced it would take a while and wanted to build up a picture of what was happening for the doctor just in case. As it happened the charting helped us get our timing just right.
Good luck with your ttc journey

I LOVE hearing those stories Gardengirl! Thanks for sharing, hopefully us girls in our mid/late 30's dont have too many problems and it happens fairly quickly. I've been charting for almost a year to learn about my cycle, this is our 2nd month of officially trying so its very exciting for us
