my little girls doesnt appear to be doing this and its getting frustrating............Ty always had trouble sleeping but that is because of being in and out of hospital so thought this time would be different....she sleeps 5-6hrs a night so only up for one feed which is awesome and loving it but during the day is an issue.......since she was born i always feed then put down...but this never worked.......apparently i have way too much milk and it comes out too fast so for the night feed i lay down...........this is my daytime routine
feed ...try to put down but she just screams.......she spills for bout hour or more......if im lucky she will fall asleep feeding or in my arms then i try and put her down but she wakes screaming an hour later.........i leave her until its obvious the crying is for real....i have been doing this for weeks and nothing..........she will sleep for longer if i feed her in our bed lying down and she falls asleep and stays there for 3-5hrs unfortantly when my son is home i cant do this.........any advice on how to settle her by herself?
How long is she up for between sleeps? I wonder if you kept her upright after a feed for 15 - 20 mins whether it would stop the spilling (or reduce it) and might make her calmer to go back down again? Also, if she's happier feeding when you're lying down is that because your flow is a bit slower? Perhaps you could try feeding her with your back reclined a bit (during the day) so it's not so fast, perhaps she's getting wind?
she is up for anywhere between 1-4hrs if she is reallly stubborn which most times she is.........i dont know why i didnt think about feeding her reclined during the day as i have just got a chair for that.....yeah wind is a major with her usually after an our she will sound like she is going to burp look like she is choking the spill so much i could feed it to her for the next feed i have her in little crib at night beside me and that is reclined and so is the cot that i TRY and put her in during the day in her room. when im feeding her laying down she actually feeds on her side and then i leave her there.........but are a bit paronoid so check on her every minute
I always got it from the supermarket, just in the baby section. Here is a link with a picture of the packet so you know what to look for (it is quite a small package, less than 10cm tall)
