ladies.. if you have any chest pain or a bad cough, runny nose etc it really does pay to get things checked out.. Although I had No symptoms of a flu...

I saw my midwife on Fri am complaining of being short of breath and tight pain.. next thing i know I was admitted into hospital on oxygen and had a resting heart rate of 140.. they did an ECG and it was abmornal..

they suspected a blood clot in my lung ( I flew london to Wgtn at 30 wks) by doing a scan on my legs - all clear..then a CT scan on my chest - results unsure..

Just to cover all bases they did the swap for H1N1..results came back positive.

All is fine with baby which is a real relief.. just got to stay home and rest for the next 7 days and take the Tammiflu (which isnt cheap by the way cost $75!!)

Keep well and watch out for any symptoms mammas

Sheesh! Any idea where/who you got it from? Glad that there is no affect on bubs.

you can get it anywhere...just like any flu virus...

the supermarket trolley

an eftpost machine

sitting next to someone on the bus

its an airborn virus and lives on hard surfaces for up to 8 hours

I was being SUPER carefull the past 3 weeks as well.. regular handwashing, Alcohol gel every half hour and after being anywhere public.

The thing that hurt the most was the cost of Tamiflu.. I am on the benefit (as im not entitled to any maternity leave) and it cost me $75 !!!

I also cant help but worry about the effects of Tamiflu on bubs. Just hoping for a speedy recovery

Oh poor you! Glad you are getting better though. How come they gave you Tamiflu instead of Relenza? I heard that was the stuff for preggy women.

Scary that you didn't have full blown flu symptoms. Lucky you saw the MW when you did.

I reckon Eftpos machines are the *worst* for transmitting viruses. Especially the ones in doctors clinics.

they are getting in touch with the pharmacy that charged me and organising a refund WOOHOOOo
