Hi,

My wee man is a very good eater (normally) loves his solids, all sorts of solids but over the last few days is cutting back on his milk a bit.

He normally has 4 bottles of about 200 a day, but he isn't finishing them, leaving anywhere from 20ml to 60 in each.

I'm not worried about his weight as he's a big boy, but just wonder if I am giving too much solids or is it ok at his age that he starts to cut back a little?

i would think it would be fine for him to be cutting back a bit. Are you still offering milk first? I breastfeed so have no idea if my son cut back or not. Sounds like hes having a good amount of milk and its great that he loves his solids. Good luck

Caden has done the same thing, he started cutting back around 8-9 months, he would leave half a bottle sometimes, he just wasnt interested in his milk, but he would and still will drink lots of water and eat heaps of food.

I found it was when he started having things like, toast and sammies and lots of fruit and raisons and stuff he only wanted about 3 bottles a day.
So now, he has a 250ml bottle when he wakes in the morning(sometimes he wont drink it all), then he has another bottle of 200mls at around 3ish and then a 250ml bottle at bedtime, he will either fall asleep halfway through the bottle or drink the whole thing and then fall asleep a little while after.
Some days he has 4 bottles, but mostly its 3. Im pretty sure that once he is on normal cows milk he will only want 2 bottles a day, but we will just see what happens at that time.
