QuoteReplyTopic: Immunisations with a cold? Posted: 21 May 2009 at 10:02am
Chelsea is meant to be having her 3 month immunisations this afternoon but this morning she has a runny nose and is very sniffly. Should I wait till she's better to get it done?
I tried ringing the doctor office to ask but it was engaged, so thought I would ask the OhBaby doctors instead
Hi - I think they only do it when baby is in good health - you have to sign a form that your baby is well today is well. I think it is to help distinguish any reactions?
i had Rorys 5 month ones booked for tomorrow but he has a cold and i saw the doc for me this morning and asked about his jabs and she said to put it off for a week.
I had Amys 6wk jabs done yesterday and she has a small cold - Doc did full check and when I asked whether to do jabs he said to go ahead. She didn't have a temp tho.
Though, in hindsight I maybe should have waited, as now I have a baby who is unsettled after jabs and has a cold...

Thanks ladies I *finally* got hold of the medical centre and they said to bring her in and they will take her temp (I don't have a thermometer) and if she has a temp they won't do it. They'll basically decide when we get there.
Play it by ear... my rule of thumb would depend on whether they are miserable. But then maybe you want the misery over and done with instead of dragged out
We'd already left before seeing your posts Bizzy and busymum! The nurse assessed her and she wasn't sniffly anymore, and underarm temp was 36.2 so we went ahead with the jabs. She screamed when they went in but settled really quickly afterwards, she seems fine so hope she stays that way!
