    Posted: 10 May 2009 at 10:00am
At my anatomy scan at 22 weeks (on Friday) the sonographer said I have only one artery in my umbilical cord instead of the normal two. She said I'll be monitored closely for growth . Of course I went home and consulted Dr Google (dumb idea!!) and freaked out.
Anyone have experience or advice on this?

DH's cousin had this and were told to prepare for their daughter not making it through the pregnancy. I don't know what the details were exactly but she was induced early and she's fine and healthy.

My friend had this in 2007 and her litle boy was induced early (38 weeks) and is totally fine now.

No Dr google is never your friend for these types of things.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

Dr Google is never your friend but it never stops me either! Can you give your MW a call and have a chat to her about it? I hate being given diagnoses but no information about what it means. Hope you get some answers soon.
