We've just reintroduced the dreamfeed. We dropped it about 3 weeks ago and since then, Daniel has consistently woken at 5.30am. We started two nights ago and this morning he went through till 7. He goes to bed at 7.30. I tell myself we won't need to DF forever. I think. I was talking to his carer about it this morning and she thought it was fine to be doing it - while he is such a great eater, he is also a champion pooer and everything comes straight back out. He's also not a big baby.

So in summary I'm happy to re-DF, but am keen to hear how long others have done it for. Is anyone still doing it after 9 months?

I think we stopped at about 6 mos. Ollie's always been an early waker but if it starts getting too early again I try and feed him up more at dinnertime!

Does he go to bed straight after dinner or is he up long enough to offer another bottle just before bed. I'm an early to bed girl so I'd much rather do that then wake him later!

We stopped somewhere between 5 and 6 months

DS has dinner and then a big bottle right before he goes down. To remove the dream feed we dropped 30ml every 3 day until we were down to 60ml and he was still waking at 6.30/7 (and not hungry until 7.30)

Are you BF or FF? Did you remove completely or try reducing it bit by bit?

I dropped it with Maya around 8 mths, but the gremlins were over 10.

As long as it works, I say go for it. I've never really done one with lil miss coz it didn't seem to make a difference - she went straight from multiple night feeds to no feeds after her 7pm bedtime feed after we made her go cold turkey.

Yay, there's someone else!!! We dropped it gradually (well over a week) - he was having meds that had to be given at 10pm so as long as he had them, we kept DFing. One thing is that I tend not to give him a bottle between about 3pm and bedtime so he eats his dinner - I wonder if I gave him a bottle for pudding then another top up at bed if that might work?

Will keep doing the DF for a few more weeks then gradually fade it out. We're FFing.

We've decided 6.30 is an OK wake up time (I'm wincing in pain as I type that) - given he goes down at 7.30, I don't think I shoudl expect him to sleep forever but 5.30 is just way too harsh.

Finley has a full bottle at 7.30, 11 and then 2(ish), he then has a mini bottle around 1/2 to 1/3 around 4.30/5, before solids at 5/5.30 and then has a full bottle one hour after his solids up in his room right before he goes to bed.

I think Finley wakes at 6.30 most days from going to bed anywhere from 6.30/7pm, I think Dh getting up wakes him, but he lies happily in bed until 7 when I go in, and I figure I can't expect him to sleep longer than that really.
