Hi!
Hoping someone can help me!
My son is almost 8months old, and has suddenly decided he doesnt breast feed anymore! (He is eating 3 solid meals a day)
He will only drink expressed milk from a bottle, Ive tried giving him 3 different brands of formula, but he wont touch any of them. He does still have his 1st morning feed from me, but not during the rest of the day. Which means im always attatched to the pump!
ANyone have any suggestions please??

Unfortunately in this situation you need to be a bit hard.  My nephew, who was a lot younger, became attached to the bottle as his mum was in hospital and on some pretty strong pain killers.  When it was time to wean him back onto breastmilk he wasn't interested and so we refused to give him a bottle and only offered breast.  It took less than a day for the stubborn little guy to choose breast over starvation  (not that it would have come to that).

I have read that putting a little marmite on your nipple can help, it was in a magazine as a tip from a Mum whos baby went on a nursing strike at about 8 months I think.

Kryssi needed a bit of convincing at that age too but I think within a day she would accept formula... just not for her night need at first.

Oh that stinks, I hate pumping with a passion! I did it for 3-4 times a day for 7 months with Dominic. If you want to go to formula you need to wean him onto it. So combine 3/4 EBM iwth 1/4 formula and slowly over a week or so change the ratios of EMB and formula til you get half and half, then 3/4 formula and 1/4 EMB. Just keep on like that til you feel he might be ready to take a complete formula bottle. The best thing will be that you will reduce the amount you need to pump almost immediately.
If you want to go back to breast try putting his favourite pureed solids on your nipple.
Good luck!
