I'm not sure if I should be asking this in this forum or not but I'm just wondering when you were breastfeeding, how long did it take for you to start getting your periods back?
My husband and I are wanting to try again for #2. We have an 8 1/2 month old and the factory hasn't started back up yet. Obviously without this happening it is near on impossible.
I realise some people would think i am lucky to not have to worry about the monthly hassle but its difficult to have another without it.

my sister didn't get her periods back til baby was 15months old. The reason being on the number of feeds per day. From all the research i've read and what the docs told her if she feeds 6+ times per day it will keep her periods at bay. She fed her baby on demand and he wanted lots!

Every woman is different. Some ladies do not get a period until they stop breastfeeding (anywhere up to year, in rare cases even longer), some are like me and get AF back 4 weeks after birth, regular as clockwork (I'm still BF). You can concieve before you get AF back as you must ovulate before a period can arrive.

I haven't been through this myself, but my sister and I are 11 months apart and my Mum breastfed so if you do the maths she got pg with me 2 months after my sister was born so I guess it is possible to happen straight away although everyone is different.

I do wonder sometimes how she coped with only a 2 month break between pregnancies

I got mine back straight away after baby, I think I had bleeding for 6 weeks from birth, then they went to nornallish (sp) ones. I was BF when DS2 was 10mths & he wanted to stop & thats when I found out I was nearly 2mths pg, lol. It just goes to show you how different we all are.

I BF'd for the first 6 weeks then went to bottle but didn't get AF back til Jake was 10 months. Still managed to get knocked up then miscarry a couple of times though so go figure

Ds is 16 months old and it looks like af has just returned. And i'm pretty sure thats because we've cut down to two feeds during the day.

I BFed DS for a year, I demand feed, though by the time DS was nearing one I was only BF at night. Anywhos I had my AF as normal...which I thought sucked as I was looking forward to more months of no AF but it didn't happen lol. So yea every woman is different.
